WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Darline Graham (R-South Carolina) this week welcomed South Carolina veterans to Washington, D.C. Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War were participating in an Honor Flight trip, which allows veterans to visit memorials to these conflicts in our nation’s capital at no cost to them.

Among the veterans attending was Mortimer Sams of Easley, South Carolina. He is a World War II veteran and recently celebrated his 100th birthday (pictured above).

“I was very honored to welcome nearly 100 veterans from South Carolina as they visited our nation’s capital and the memorials dedicated to their service, valor, and sacrifice. I extend my sincere gratitude to our veterans who have defended our freedom and fought for the land that we love. I also would like to offer my appreciation to Honor Flight for bringing countless veterans to see our nation’s memorials,” said Senator Darline Graham.
