WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Darline Graham (R-South Carolina) today joined her Senate colleagues in cosponsoring a resolution marking the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment becoming law. The resolution recognizes the significant legacy of the Hyde Amendment, which has been credited with saving more than 2.6 million lives since its enactment.

“I’m proud to join my Senate colleagues in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment. The legacy that the Hyde Amendment created is one of hope and promise, with 2.6 million lives saved thanks to this legislation,” said Senator Darline Graham.

Senator Darline Graham continued, “But the work did not stop 50 years ago, and it is not stopping today. Taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund abortions, and I will oppose any effort to do so.”
